Spot On was my first client shoot outside the studio during my internship at Power Digital Marketing. It was a big step for me, getting hands-on experience beyond editing and seeing how a full-scale production comes together..
The internship at Power Digital was an incredible learning experience. Each week, we had meetings with different departments, which gave me a well-rounded look at the industry. One day, I’d be learning from the public relations team; the next, I’d be sitting in with the TikTok team. It was eye opening to see how all these moving parts contribute to a successful agency.
This project was the first where I got to be involved in every stage. Pre-production, production, and post-production. I learned the importance of storyboarding, coming to a shoot with a solid plan, and how to execute that plan efficiently. Working alongside a team, from camera operators to on-screen talent, taught me how crucial collaboration is in bringing a vision to life.
And to top it off, my car actually made it into the shoot which was pretty cool considering I was just an intern and the final product was going to be on TV. Seeing something I use every day become part of a professionally produced ad was a super cool moment.
Looking back, this shoot was a major milestone in my journey as a filmmaker and marketer. It was the first time I truly felt part of a professional production, not just observing but contributing in a meaningful way.
From learning new gear to understanding the importance of pre-production, every part of the process pushed me to grow. The experience showed me how much I love being on set, working with a team, and bringing creative visions to life.
